The John Glenn Centennial Celebration will celebrate the life and legacy of John H. Glenn, Jr.
As John was born in Guernsey County and raised in Muskingum County, Ohio, the two communities are collaborating in recognition of what would be his 100th birthday on July 18, 2021. A weekend full of events is being planned including a “Friendship 7” parade from Cambridge to New Concord and a “Friendship 7” race from Cambridge to New Concord. There will also be astronaut and speaker presentations, space movies and activities for children and the Glenn Museum will be open for free walk-through tours. A “Savor the Flavor” John Glenn food trail will be offered throughout the month of July and a John & Annie Glenn Heritage Trail is being created. It will include sites in Muskingum and Guernsey Counties which were significant to John and/or Annie. More details will be forthcoming. Please check back for further information.
